Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
